Christ in You the Hope of Glory Shows God’s Plan

Paul speaks of a mystery in Colossians 1:26–27. This mystery stayed hidden for long ages. Now God has made it known to His people. The mystery is not like a game or a crime story. In the Bible, a mystery means a truth that God had to show us.

God’s plan did not start late. From the start, God wanted to bless the whole world. In Genesis 12:3, God told Abraham that all families of the earth would find blessing through him. That promise pointed to Jesus.

Israel had a special place in God’s plan. The Lord gave Israel His Word, alongside the law, the temple, and many promises. Most of all, Jesus came from Israel.

One Body in Christ

Still, many people did not see the full plan. Some thought God only wanted to save Jews. Yet God always planned to save Gentiles too. A Gentile means someone who is not a Jew.

Ephesians 3:6 says Gentiles share in the same promise through Jesus. They are fellow heirs. Also, they are part of one body. They belong to God’s family by the gospel.

This was huge news. Jews and Gentiles did not always like each other. They had many walls between them. But Jesus broke down those walls. Ephesians 2:14 says Christ is our peace. He made both groups one.

Salvation Open to All

Galatians 3:28 says there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female in Christ. That does not mean people lose who they are. It means no one stands higher at the cross. Jesus saves all kinds of people the same way.

No skin color can save us. Neither can a family name or good works wash away sin. Only Jesus can save.

John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. That may sound narrow to the world. Yet it is also full of grace. The one way stands open to all.

This is why Paul says, “Christ in you the hope of glory.” God did not keep His love for one small group. He sent Jesus for the world. Anyone who turns from sin and trusts Jesus can come home.

Christ in You the Hope of Glory Gives Us Hope

The words “Christ in you” carry deep joy. Jesus does more than stand near us. He lives in His people by the Holy Spirit. That truth should fill us with awe.

In the Old Testament, God met His people in the tabernacle and temple. Exodus 40:34 says God’s glory filled the tent. 1 Kings 8:11 says God’s glory filled the temple. Those places showed that God wanted to dwell with His people.

Now God does something even closer. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:9 says the Spirit of Christ lives in those who belong to Him.

A Sure Guarantee of Glory

So Christ in you the hope of glory means Jesus lives in His people now. He also promises glory later. Glory means life with God in His full light and joy.

This hope does not mean a wish. Bible hope means sure trust in God’s promise. Ephesians 1:13–14 says the Holy Spirit is a pledge of our future. A pledge is like a sure sign that more will come.

Romans 8:15 says we receive the Spirit of adoption. Because of Jesus, we can cry, “Abba! Father!” That means we do not come to God as strangers. We come as loved children.

Transformed from the Inside Out

Many people feel empty inside. Some chase money. Others chase fame. A few chase pleasure. Yet none of those things can fill the soul. Only Christ can make us whole.

Jesus does not offer dead religion. He gives new life. Galatians 2:20 says, “Christ lives in me.” Paul did not just learn facts about Jesus. He lived with Jesus as his Lord.

This truth also changes how we see others. Since Jesus can save anyone, we should not look down on anyone. God saves the kind, the angry, the rich, and the poor alike.

Grace leaves no room for pride. The cross tells us we all need mercy. The empty tomb tells us mercy has come.

Today, Christ still calls people to Himself. He invites sinners to repent, brings the tired to rest, and bids the lost to come home. When Jesus lives in us, we have hope for today and glory for tomorrow.
