Pastor Abel’s journey in ministry began with serving behind the scenes on the sound board, followed by roles as an usher and deacon. In early 2021, he answered the call to pastoral ministry, stepping into leadership with a heart for serving the next generation. Today, he leads Zeal Young Adults, a ministry dedicated to grounding young adults in sound doctrine while fostering authentic, Christ-centered community in the heart of Los Angeles.

Originally from Santa Ana, California, Pastor Abel has been a faithful member of Core Church LA since 2012, when he was first invited by his then-girlfriend, Vreni—a long-time member from the church’s early days. Over the years, the church has witnessed Pastor Abel and Vreni grow through many life stages: from dating to marriage, and eventually into parenthood.

He and Vreni are the proud parents of four children: Caleb, Elise, Levi, and Evan, who has gone to be with the Lord. Pastor Abel’s life and ministry continue to be a testament to God’s faithfulness and the transformative power of discipleship within the local church.
