This week, be encouraged to ask yourself: “Am I loving those around me the way Christ loves me?” Consider replacing the word “love” with your own name in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 to see where you stand in this high calling.
Let’s choose to be vessels for the Lord, reaching the lost and loving others—not for what we can receive, but because Jesus first loved us.

Despite his chains and uncertain future, Paul penned …one of the most encouraging letters in Scripture. We examined how Paul understood the believers in Philippi, stayed in contact with them through letters, and ministered with words of hope. The central truth we discovered is found in Philippians 1:6: “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” This means that when God starts a work in our lives, He will never leave us undone. The question is not whether God will finish His work, but whether we will surrender to His plans and allow Him to mold and shape us according to His purpose.

Takeaways:
– God’s work in us is complete and ongoing. We are not working for victory, but working within victory because God has placed Himself in us through the Holy Spirit. Though we may stumble and fall in our sin nature, He will not abandon the good work He started.
– Hope and joy are available even in difficult circumstances. Paul wrote this letter of joy from a cold Roman prison, teaching us that our circumstances do not have to dictate our spiritual condition. When we stay connected to Christ, we can experience exceeding joy that comes from an inward peace not affected by outward trials.
– Staying in contact and encouraging one another matters deeply. Paul consistently reached out to believers with words of grace and peace. In our difficult times, we need to ask ourselves: Are we reaching out to help those in trouble around us? A simple word of encouragement can make an eternal difference in someone’s life.

As we move forward this week, reflect on the areas where God is working in your life. Are there places where you need to surrender more fully to His plans? Remember, His favor toward us is never ending, and though weeping may last for a night, a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Jesus offers us “living water”—eternal satisfaction that the world cannot provide—and He seeks us out even when we feel unworthy of His attention.

– God orchestrates divine appointments in our lives. Just as Jesus “had to pass through Samaria,” He intentionally pursues each of us, regardless of our past failures or current circumstances. Your brokenness doesn’t disqualify you from His love.
– Only Jesus can satisfy the deepest thirst of our souls. We often look for fulfillment in relationships, possessions, success, or popularity, but these leave us empty. Jesus is the fountain of living water who offers lasting satisfaction when we surrender to Him in spirit and truth.
– Genuine transformation leads to testimony. The Samaritan woman immediately left her water pot and shared her encounter with Jesus. When we truly meet Christ, we can’t help but tell others: “Come and see!” Our changed lives become powerful witnesses to His grace.

As you go through this week, let us be encouraged to reflect on our own “divine appointments.” Where is Jesus meeting you? What areas of thirst in your life need His living water? And who in your circle needs to hear about the hope you’ve found in Christ?
May you experience afresh the joy of knowing that the God of the universe knows everything about you and loves you completely.

Whether through Palm Sunday, Good Friday, or Easter Sunday outreach, now is the time to invest in eternal souls, pointing others to Jesus who alone can bring hope in the midst of chaos.

As we approach this Easter season, let’s ask ourselves: Will we pray? Will we be available to share the hope of Jesus with those around us? Our mission field is only 36 inches away. Let’s not squander the greatest message of all humanity by keeping silent when multitudes stand in the valley of decision.

We are called to pray at all times, in all situations, bringing every care and concern to our Heavenly Father. Prayer is our constant conversation with God, and it’s through prayer that we tap into His eternal power to help us in our time of need.

As we move forward this week, let us be encouraged to examine your life honestly. Are you grounded in God’s truth? Are you living righteously? Are you sharing the gospel of peace? Are you walking in faith? Most importantly, are you praying without ceasing? The battle is real, but our God is greater, and He has equipped us with everything we need for victory.

Let’s commit this week to applying these truths in our relationships. If you’re married, ask God to show you one specific way you can better love or respect your spouse. If you’re single, prepare your heart now to honor these vows when the time comes. And remember, the same grace God extends to us is the grace we must extend to our spouses.

Rather than causing us to live in fear or depression, this reality should awaken us to live with purpose, wisdom, and joy. We explored three key areas: walking with wisdom in a spiritually sleeping world, being continually filled with the Holy Spirit’s power, and living a life characterized by genuine joy and thanksgiving. Let us examine whether we’re wasting our lives on temporary things or investing in eternity, and to make ourselves available as instruments in God’s hands during these critical days.

Takeaways:
– Wake up and walk with wisdom. We cannot afford to be spiritually asleep while the world around us abandons God. We must be alert, making the most of our time, understanding that tomorrow is not guaranteed. The question we must ask ourselves is: Are we allowing our faith to breathe and come alive, or is it confined to Sunday mornings? God desires all people to be saved, and we must be His voice of reason and warning to those around us.
– Be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. While we receive the Holy Spirit at conversion, we need regular “refills” of His power and influence in our lives. This means dying to ourselves, surrendering to God’s will, pursuing purity, and not grieving the Spirit through habitual sin. We must examine our hearts honestly: Is there anything—even “good things” like hobbies or sports—that is consuming our time and robbing us of becoming who God has called us to be? Don’t waste or squander your high calling.
– Live with overflowing joy and thanksgiving. When we are filled with the Spirit, joy naturally flows from our lives. We encourage one another, sing praises to the Lord, and give thanks in all circumstances. This isn’t manufactured happiness but the fruit of being refreshed by God’s power and ready to be used by Him. Our joy becomes a testimony to others and creates a welcoming atmosphere that draws people to Christ.

As we look ahead to Christ’s return, let’s not be found sleeping. Let’s make every day count for eternity, continually seeking fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit, and living with a joy that can only come from knowing our redemption draws near.
